The UNI-T UT683KIT is a cable locator consisting of a transmitter and receiver for low-voltage installations up to 60 V DC. It detects short circuits and breaks up to 10 kΩ and traces cables over long distances. Non-contact voltage detection increases safety when working.

Description
The UNI-T UT683KIT combines a transmitter and receiver for cable locating and fault diagnosis in low-voltage installations. It locates individual conductors within cable bundles and determines fault locations, with RJ11 connections over a range of more than 3000 meters, with RJ45 over more than 100 meters. Additionally, the device tests cable continuity and detects short circuits or breaks up to 10 kΩ as well as reverse polarity.
For safe operation on installations up to 60 V DC, the receiver is equipped with non-contact voltage detection (NCV). A 3.5 mm headphone jack allows listening to the signal, while a low battery indicator warns in time before charging. The transmitter and receiver are equipped with 1050 mAh lithium-ion batteries rechargeable via USB and offer runtimes of over 8 and over 5 hours respectively.
The red plastic housing is compact in design: the transmitter weighs 95 g with dimensions of 130 × 51 × 28 mm, the receiver 127 g with 197 × 48 × 34 mm. Thus, the UT683KIT is aimed at professional users such as installers, service technicians, and electricians.
