Description
The Nothing Ear (Open) forgo the classic in-ear design with ear canal sealing and instead opt for an open design that sits on the ear with ear hooks that support the weight instead of pressing into the ear canal. A 14.2 mm dynamic driver with a titanium magnet was developed for this open form factor and sits close to the ear, while ambient noise remains perceptible because no active noise cancellation is installed.
Two microphones are available for calls, battery life is up to 8 hours for music playback or 6 hours for calls, with the charging case this extends to up to 30 or 24 hours respectively. Charging is via USB-C, the case itself is made of PET and PU, the earbuds are protected against dust and splash water according to IP54.
Via Bluetooth 5.3 with AAC and SBC codecs, the earbuds can be connected to two devices simultaneously thanks to multipoint pairing and used with Android and iOS. Touch control, voice control, and a low-lag mode for reduced latency during games or videos complete the features.
