Description
The MSI PRO B840M-B is a MicroATX motherboard for AMD systems in the AM5 socket, supporting Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 processor series. It is based on the AMD B840 chipset, combined with two DDR5 memory slots supporting up to 128 GB of RAM and overclocking speeds up to 8000 MHz. For storage drives, it features four SATA-III ports and two M.2 PCIe slots, enabling RAID configurations in modes 0, 1, and 10.
Expansion is provided via a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for graphics cards and an additional PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Video output is delivered by an HDMI 2.1 port, while network connectivity is realized through a Realtek RTL8125 controller with 2.5 GbE. For audio, the Realtek ALC897 chip provides 7.1-channel support.
The connector layout includes on the rear six USB-A 3.2 ports at 5 Gbps and one USB-C 3.2 port, complemented on the front by six USB 2.0 connectors. The UEFI AMI BIOS and Windows 11 Pro compatibility round out this black motherboard for professional work environments.
