Description
The GL.iNet GL-RM1PE, also called Comet PoE, enables access to computers, servers and network devices directly via a web browser on Windows, macOS or Linux, without additional software or subscriptions. A built-in cloud service manages the connection setup, while Tailscale support enables secure coupling of distributed sites. Linux and Ubuntu are also available for standalone operation.
The video signal is input via HDMI and hardware-encoded as H.264, which allows resolutions up to 4K at 30 frames per second to be displayed smoothly. Bidirectional audio transmission allows direct voice communication during maintenance and support sessions. The system is controlled via one USB 2.0 Type-A and one Type-C port, with the Type-C port also capable of operating in device mode.
Power supply is available either via the Gigabit Ethernet port according to the PoE 802.3af/at standard or via USB-C with 5 V/2 A Power Delivery, which reduces cabling in racks and limited spaces. A four-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 1 GB DDR3L memory and 32 GB eMMC storage provide the necessary computing power and space for system data. Wake-on-LAN also enables remote startup of connected devices.
