Description
The CPC200-Tbox Ambient from Carlinkit transforms a factory-wired CarPlay or Android Auto system in the car into a wireless solution. Instead of connecting a cable, the smartphone connects via WiFi and Bluetooth to the adapter, which establishes the connection to the vehicle's infotainment system. Thus, navigation, music and apps can still be controlled via the vehicle's display without the phone having to be connected via cable.
Inside, an Android 13 system with Qualcomm QCM6225 processor, Adreno 610 graphics unit, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage runs, which allows the adapter to also be used independently as a small on-board computer. Via USB-C port, TF card reader and SIM card slot, the device can be expanded, while the LED display also enables individually controllable ambient lighting in the cockpit. The image resolution automatically adjusts to the original resolution of the respective protocol.
Thanks to the WiFi standard 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac in the 2.4G and 5G bands as well as Bluetooth 4.2 BLE and 5.0 BLE, the adapter establishes a stable connection to iPhones from iPhone 6 with iOS 10.0 and to Android devices from Android 11.0. Thus, it is suitable for drivers who wish to use their factory-wired system wirelessly retroactively, regardless of the smartphone operating system used.
