Description
The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero is an ATX mainboard for AMD processors with AM5 socket, built on the AMD X870E chipset. Four DIMM slots accommodate DDR5 RAM up to 192 GB, operated in dual-channel mode and compatible with both ECC and non-ECC modules.
For storage expansion, five M.2 slots and four SATA III connectors are available, supporting RAID arrays at levels 0, 1, 5 and 10. Two PCIe x16 slots of generation 5 and four of generation 4 allow installation of current graphics cards and additional expansion cards. Network connectivity is provided by 2.5 and 5-gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
On the back, six USB-A connectors per 3.2 Gen 2, two USB-C per 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB4 Gen 2x2 ports are available, complemented by an HDMI output. Audio is provided by the Realtek ALC4082 chip with 7.1-channel output. The UEFI AMI BIOS features a 256-Mbit memory. The board is aimed at users who want to build an AM5 system with current connectivity for storage, networking and peripherals.
